FCA Motor Finance Redress Scheme: Our Update

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has confirmed it is developing an industry-wide compensation (redress) scheme for motor finance customers. Below we explain what this means for you and how we are responding.

What the FCA has announced

The FCA is designing a redress scheme intended to ensure motor finance customers are treated fairly and compensated where appropriate. The scheme aims to provide a consistent, fair approach for assessing affected agreements, including those involving discretionary commission arrangements (DCAs).

Why we've paused new sign-ups

In agreement with the FCA, we have temporarily paused new customer sign-ups while we make updates to our advertising and sign-up processes. We want to be certain that everything we do is clear, fair, and aligned with the latest regulatory guidance before we resume.

What this means for existing customers

  • This pause does not affect existing customers.
  • Your information and any ongoing referrals remain secure.
  • We'll continue to keep you updated as the situation develops.

You can always claim for free

You do not need to use a claims management company. You can claim for free, directly with your lender or the Financial Ombudsman Service. You can also read about the redress scheme directly from the FCA on their official website.
